Arden Hills stays in Cities for Safe and Stable Communities; Weber named council liaison

City Administrator Jessica Jagoe told the council that Arden Hills had joined Cities for Safe and Stable Communities as a full Phase 1 member in March and that Phase 2 would require renewed commitments and a financial split. The Phase 2 membership fee is $30,000 for one year to be shared equally among participating cities; Minnetonka serves as the contract city for the coalition.
Councilmember Kurt Weber said he was interested in serving as the council liaison and the council agreed to continue membership and name Weber as the council representative. Mayor David Grant voiced support for continued membership but expressed concern about staff time required to participate in coalition activities and the volume of email and networking that entails.
