Council approves lodging-tax funds for McDonald Park infield upgrades

On May 19 the Colfax City Council approved Resolution 25-11, awarding lodging-tax funds to the Palouse Summer Series to upgrade infields at McDonald Park. The upgrades were presented as benefiting local teams and enabling the park to host and showcase more events; Director Scott Parrish told the council the improvements would also allow expansion of youth events in the future. The motion to approve was entered by Golden and seconded by Schaefer; roll call was all yes.
Councilmember Golden reported that the Park Board had discussed and supported the application at its meeting earlier the same evening. The funding is intended for capital infield work to support local leagues and to help the park serve as a regional showcase during the summer season.
