Sisters staff outline $3.5M Edgerton main and design of 2.2M-gallon reservoir, plan $8M financing

Public works and capital staff briefed the committee on major water-infrastructure projects underpinning the proposed borrowing included in the budget. Paul Brutagna said the Edgerton Transmission Main is out to bid and described the reservoir design scope: a new ~2.2-million-gallon reservoir to improve storage and fire flow, and a new 16-inch Edgerton main to add redundancy and capacity.
Brutagna said the Edgerton main and related projects represent critical infrastructure: "The new Edgerton line will be a new 16 inch line... It'll give us redundancy, it'll give us a brand new line, increase flows to town, increase fire flows," he said. Staff explained SDCs and water-fund transfers will cover portions of the projects but that the proposed budget includes approximately $8,000,000 in loan proceeds to cover near-term capital. Design teams are being procured and several projects require NEPA or Forest Service coordination before construction.
