Micaela Petty said local public-health investigators are following up on reported cyclospora cases by interviewing patients and reviewing their recent food histories to identify common exposures that could explain clusters of illness. "So we follow-up with individuals, get their food history, and then try to identify if there's any common sources of exposure," she said.
Petty said that when common sources are identified, local and state agencies will communicate those findings to the public and that residents can look for updates on the FDA, CDC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health websites. She encouraged anyone with questions to reach out to their local board of health for additional information and support.
