Taylor Farms issues voluntary iceberg lettuce recall; local restaurants and state checks cited

Micaela Petty said investigators have linked at least one potential exposure in the outbreak to iceberg lettuce distributed by Taylor Farms and one farm in central Mexico. "...identifying at least 1 potential source being iceberg lettuce, specifically supplied by Taylor Farms and 1 specific farm in Central Mexico," she said, noting traceback work is part of ongoing epidemiology.
Petty said Taylor Farms issued a voluntary recall of the implicated iceberg lettuce on July 17 and added that some Massachusetts restaurants did receive product from Taylor Farms before the recall. "On July 17, Taylor Farms did issue a voluntary recall of their iceberg lettuce, which means this product is no longer available on shelves or in restaurants," she said. State food protection agencies are conducting compliance checks to ensure recalled product has been removed from distribution.
