Henry County to add sheriff’s positions, chiefs say recruits in training; board asked for PD staffing briefing

On operational staffing, county uniformed leaders told commissioners they are actively recruiting. The chief said, "Currently, we have 8 recruits in the academy," and staff noted about eight more recruits preparing to start in July with 13 open police positions to be filled as funding and timing allow. Commissioners also asked whether ordered fire trucks remain on schedule; staff said they had not canceled those orders.
