Staff said they posted a temporary apprenticeship coordinator position and submitted an apprenticeship program to the Department of Labor for Propel's Kitchen, creating a production-cook apprenticeship. "We did submit our 1st official, apprenticeship program to, DOL last week for Propel's Kitchen. We have created a production cook apprenticeship," staff said.
Officials also discussed a board-filed award for youth work (described in the meeting as $1,200,000) and plans to route funding agreements through partners including SLDC and modular-building firms to connect training and housing supports. Staff asked board members to help identify employers to serve as intermediaries and to participate in outreach and a planned apprenticeship media series.
