EO officer: outreach rule suspended; routine accessibility requirements continue

Shannon Johnson presented the board's equal-opportunity (EO) update and described the unit's recent work on complaint logs and employment-practices data analysis.
"For the EO, that is the equal opportunity… we are the place where [complaints] would actually come to get that done," Johnson said, describing EO monitoring and the reporting that the agency submits to the state. On the suspension of a targeted outreach regulation, the state EO officer on the call explained that the government suspended outreach criteria that could be interpreted as favoring one demographic over others; "the government does suspend the outreach, criterias ... We still have no updates on that," the state official said. Board members asked whether office postings, translations and assistive-technology requirements still apply; Shannon Johnson said routine accessibility and one-stop certification standards remain in place.
The board heard that the agency completed its one-stop certification with positive findings and that staff will share further guidance when state-level replacement rules for outreach are issued.
