Caribou County approves Task Order for Kelly Toponce Road bridge survey and hydraulics study

Caribou County commissioners on July 13 approved Task Order #8 with Keller & Associates to perform a survey and hydraulics study for the Kelly Toponce Road bridge replacement.
Kevin McLain, Road & Bridge, told the board that Jake Poulsen of Keller & Associates (on the phone) said “a hydraulic study is needed to stay within the law.” The board voted to move forward with the task order so engineers can define replacement options and required permitting. Commissioner Bryce Somsen made the motion to approve Task Order #8 and Commissioner Marty McCullough seconded; the vote was unanimous.
County staff noted irrigation at nearby reservoirs was turned off July 9 and reservoir levels are low, which the engineers will need to account for in hydraulics modeling. Keller Associates will begin the work under the task order and county staff said they will return with cost and timeline details as the study proceeds.
