Negotiators press on salary schedule: 2.315% base plus step movement can equal ~3–3.328%
Summary
District and bargaining unit debated how the raise is being represented: finance staff and negotiators said 2.315% appears on each cell while step/column movement for eligible staff yields total increases ranging roughly 3.00%–3.328%. The unit said members want more than the proposed schedule.

Negotiators spent substantial time clarifying how the proposed raise amounts were communicated to members and what employees should expect.
"Everything that I've seen that goes out communicating the proposal keeps forwarding 2.315% for the raise," a bargaining unit representative said, asking whether better framing of the full increase (including steps) might affect member response. A district negotiator and finance staff explained the mechanics: 2.315% is applied to each cell and eligible employees would also receive step and column movement, which for eligible staff produces increases between roughly 3% and 3.328%.
The district said its salary proposal includes Appendix A and Article 38 on fringe benefits, that it had adjusted the salary allocations and added step 26 to the schedule, and that it believed the package represented what the district could financially support. The bargaining unit countered that compensation remains the membership's top priority and that the unit expects either a larger monetary package or meaningful non-monetary incentives if the salary numbers remain as proposed.
Negotiators did not reach tentative agreement on the schedule during the session and the bargaining unit said it would not TA the current offer without a different package to bring back to members.
