The Ellis County Commission recessed into executive session twice during the Jan. 13 meeting: first for 20 minutes under the attorney–client privilege exception to discuss contract negotiations (attendees included Bill Jeter and Darren Myers in addition to the commissioners), and a second 20-minute session under the nonelected personnel exception to conduct interview reviews (attendees included Bill Jeter, Jennifer Taylor and Darren Myers). Both sessions concluded and the board returned to open session with no decisions reported.
The motions to enter executive session and the times for resumption were recorded in open session; commissioners confirmed no decisions were made in either closed session before adjourning the meeting at 9:54 a.m.
