Brandon McKay, Ellis County public works director, presented an update to the county’s moving-permit policy and accompanying resolution to broaden the permit from covering only over-height loads to also include over-length, over-width and overweight vehicle movements.
McKay noted the final resolution page left a blank for penalties under KSA 8-1901 and told the commission “the penalty can be up to $500.” A commissioner moved to adopt Resolution R-2026-02 establishing the policy; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously (3–0).
