Lawrence County planning staff asked the board to recommend approval of Variance No. 218 so owners Stephanie and Carl Kelly can rebuild on an existing foundation where a structure previously burned. Staff said the county commission had waived the fee due to the circumstances and that the variance would document that the replacement building would occupy the same location and not require the standard 25-foot setback. "We would ask that you would make a recommendation to the county commission," staff said.
Board members discussed the site history briefly and affirmed there were no unresolved setback or right-of-way issues. The board moved to approve the variance recommendation; the motion was seconded and carried without objection. The item will be forwarded to the county commission on its next agenda for final action.
