County safety coordinator certified to teach OSHA 10/30, reports training of 30 employees

Jane Corbin, safety coordinator for Rutherford County Insurance and Risk Management, told commissioners she has become an OSHA outreach trainer and is offering OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 courses tailored to departments.
Corbin said she has certified 30 employees to OSHA 10 across four departments and described plans to train additional groups including the correctional work center in coming weeks. She said training is customized to department hazards so employees recognize hazards beyond their “own bubble” and can contribute to a countywide safety culture.
Commissioners thanked Corbin and asked about reporting mechanisms; she said employees can report hazards to the safety office so the coordinator can monitor recurring issues and pursue corrective steps.
