Emergency Management asked the Public Safety Committee to recognize a pass-through Homeland Security grant that will fund a foam trailer and foam for extinguishing liquefied-fuel fires and will include a video laryngoscope for EMS.
Chris Clark explained the grant’s purpose and said the foam trailer and consumable foam will help with large fuel fires (jet fuel, diesel, gasoline) that can occur in the county. The committee called the roll and approved the budget amendment to accept and allocate the grant funds.
Chairman Reed and commissioners voted in favor; the motion passed on the committee level and will be entered into the county’s budget records to be available for procurement and equipment placement with appropriate departments.
