At the July 9 meeting Mayor Brad Smith led routine administrative business. The council unanimously approved and signed the June 11 minutes after Councilor Barbara Northington moved and Councilor Sue Holliday seconded the motion: "All in favor, motion passed to approve and sign the minutes."
The council also adopted Resolution 08-19 authorizing participation in the League of Oregon Cities' pilot program that provides limited free legal advice to small eastern Oregon cities; City Manager Raamin Burrell described the program as a continuation of a beneficial service from the prior year. Councilor Melissa Pettyjohn moved to adopt the resolution and Councilor Northington seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Smith next called for payment of bills and for required signatures. Councilor Pettyjohn moved and Councilor Holliday seconded; the council voted in favor and signed the bills. The transcript notes the extra signatures required related to the Wastewater Facility Plan had already been approved by the council and were gathered as part of the packet-signature process. The meeting adjourned at 6:26 p.m.
