County staff recommended awarding the juvenile detention food-service contract to Summit Food Services LLC after reviewing the single bid. Eric Sheffield, identified in the meeting as the county director, told commissioners by phone that "the proposal needs to receive all requirements outlined in the RFP" and that proposed pricing "is consistent with our anticipated FY27 costs and will not impact our fee budget request." The board voted to approve the bid award.
According to the presentation, Summit was the only respondent to the RFP and staff cited its track record in recommending approval. Commissioners moved, seconded and recorded the roll call votes; the motion passed and staff were authorized to move forward with a food-service agreement for FY27.
