The Sylvania Schools Board voted to appoint Steven Rubanski as principal of Stranahan Elementary School after the superintendent and board members recommended the hire. Superintendent Cyril Bargain said Rubanski "stood out unanimously amongst our interview teams last week" and highlighted his leadership in the district's career‑readiness program and prior principal experience.
Rubanski thanked the board and described the transition from his current role in CareerTech into a building leadership post. Superintendent Bargain told the board the district will not fill the career‑readiness coordinator position and instead will redistribute those duties across existing staff (Andrea Hazelman and Anna Drake) to realize savings. The board called the roll and recorded affirmative votes during the appointment motion on the transcript.
