Council spotlights Foresight Outdoor Power, a neighborhood small-engine shop

At its July 27 meeting the Cumberland Town Council invited Aaron Emerald, co-owner of Foresight Outdoor Power, to describe services (sales, repairs, pickup/delivery) and a local apprenticeship connection with Bonney Eagle High School.
Aaron Emerald, co-owner of Foresight Outdoor Power at 199 Middle Road, told the council the shop has been on Middle Road for 10 years and he and his wife Sally have owned it for just over eight years. "We do sales and service of small engine equipment such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, string trimmers," Emerald said, adding the shop offers pickup and delivery on Thursdays and free delivery for items purchased there.
Emerald described a summer hiring pattern and a local apprenticeship relationship: "We typically have a high school kid every summer when we can land one and try to get them out there changing oil and getting their hands dirty and learn a little of the business," he said. Councilors commended the shop; Chair Eads thanked Emerald and encouraged residents to support neighborhood businesses.
