Shooting Club given permission to widen access gates for safety

Councilor Lindsey Wenick moved to permit new extended gates no less than the width of the cattle guard; Councilor Suzanne Hood seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The council’s approval sets the minimum width requirement and allows the club to move forward with gate modifications subject to any applicable city permitting requirements.
The action aims to reduce the risk of vehicles bypassing closed gates during active range use; the club and city staff should coordinate on permits, installation timing and any traffic-control measures needed during work.
