Police dispatch reclassification, body‑camera costs and EMS training funded in staff budget

"He converted, like I said, there's a records clerk position that we've moved to dispatch as telecommunications officer that gives him another dispatcher," Staff member (S5) said. Staff also reported funded mobile data terminals that were previously approved and an updated line item for body‑camera costs.
For EMS, staff said the department had turnover and has added three new part‑time hires; the budget includes funding for FTO pay and increased training and travel to reflect higher certification costs and lodging. Fire department budgets were adjusted to reflect actual increases in fuel and maintenance; staff said one financed vehicle had been paid off and the associated financing expense removed.
Council praised staff for public‑safety operations and asked no substantive changes at the workshop; staff will include the finalized public‑safety line items in the next budget packet.
