South Shore board adopts GroupMe for town communications; Santa event and Emergency Management donation announced

The Town Board voted unanimously to adopt the GroupMe messaging app to share town announcements, events and emergency notifications. Residents were instructed to download GroupMe and request to join "South Shore, SD Announcements"; Michelle Zirbel (Finance Officer) was listed as the contact at 605‑880‑4315 to request an invitation. Join requests will be approved by President Jamie Dolen and Zirbel.
During public input and other business the board also announced a Santa event scheduled for Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the South Shore Community Center. Emergency Management donated 12 sleeping cots, 12 blankets and 12 pillows to the town; the board thanked the donor. The next regular meeting was set for Dec. 9, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
