Board moves to accept petition to vacate portion of School Street and schedule public hearing

The Town Board on Sept. 9 agreed that once the town receives a properly signed Petition to Vacate 15 feet of the School Street public right-of-way, the Finance Officer shall accept the petition as filed, schedule a public hearing, and publish the required notice. The motion was made by President Jamie Dolen and seconded by S. Johanson and passed unanimously.
The minutes record only the procedural motion to accept and schedule the petition; no public hearing date was set in the Sept. 9 minutes because the petition had not yet been filed. Residents or property owners with interest in the replat should watch the town’s published notices for the hearing date once the petition is filed.
