Randy Ott appointed to Town Board to fill vacancy
Summary
The Town Board unanimously appointed Randy Ott to fill the remainder of S. Schmeichel’s term at the Sept. 9 meeting. Both candidates were encouraged to run in the next election.
The Town Board of South Shore appointed Randy Ott to fill the vacant trustee seat left by S. Schmeichel. The appointment followed consideration of two residents who volunteered to serve; President Jamie Dolen moved to appoint Randy Ott and S. Johanson seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The minutes note that both applicants were encouraged to run for the seat at election time. The board did not record any additional terms or an effective start date beyond the appointment at the Sept. 9 meeting.
