Library transition, road‑acceptance question, temporary driveway permit and broadband outreach noted

Town staff reported that the first daytime staff meeting for the new library went well but Turnstone Corporation still retains ownership of the site and the town has not yet accepted it. Selectmen said a few remaining issues must be completed before the town accepts the site; staff and Turnstone will meet with the Library Trustees over the next weeks to finalize outstanding items with a goal of late July or early August for completion.

Quinlan said he will consult Town Counsel about whether the Selectboard must formally accept a road the town built on town property, noting that historically roads built by developers are accepted at Town Meeting. The board also reported that the Poissons were granted a temporary driveway permit for Herlihy Road, with Brook Road crossing uncertain pending NH DES and survey work. Selectman Tom Driscoll raised broadband questions, asking whether Fidium would extend service to the rest of Mont Vernon; the board said some residents already have Fidium and negotiations are underway to move additional town buildings to the network. Driscoll also proposed compiling an inventory of town‑maintained lands (cemetery, McCollom Field, village area) to plan beautification and noted several properties with liens were discussed.
