The Heritage Pines Community Development District Board discussed a targeted clean‑up of wetland area NWRA‑33 at its Feb. 18, 2025 meeting. Chair Kathleen Lonergan read Environmental Solutions’ scope of work, which calls for "removal and disposal of several dead or dying bushes around the perimeter and wetland NWRA‑33," selective herbicide use to knock back vines and manual removal of standing weeds where machinery cannot safely access the slope.
District Manager Chuck Adams told the board the ES approach is more hands‑on and likely to be "more aesthetically pleasing" than the forestry‑mulch method proposed by another contractor. The board also noted that the District Engineer, who was not present, will coordinate and must determine whether features such as trees exceed the removal threshold; Lonergan said nothing larger than 5 inches in diameter can be removed without that determination. No vote was required at this meeting; the board confirmed the previously approved ES proposal as the corrected scope moves forward.
