Staff explained the unit is similar to traffic/construction message boards used at events, is about twice the size of the city's current small police unit, and will reduce recurring rental costs. "We've paid, you know, $1,000 to rent for four days...so this will give us the ability to advertise different things going on in the community," staff said, adding the purchase was made through a joint-purchasing program and includes a warranty.
Council moved and approved the resolution on roll call.
