During public comment, resident Karen Gallagher asked whether there were updates on Hope Elementary School’s renovation project and the status of School Committee bids due Oct. 31. Shawn Carlson, School Union 69 superintendent, said schools can access and benefit from certain types of loans for construction and renovation projects and that the bids are for the overall application process to secure a place to use that program.
Carlson also said the school is working with a company to help the School Committee develop and consolidate the overall specifications package that will be used for bidding. The board did not take further action at the meeting; the bids remain due Oct. 31 as part of the School Committee’s application process.
