The Osage City Council voted unanimously Jan. 27 to approve the closeout of Community Development Block Grant Project No. 23-PF-0004, the East Area Sewer Project, and authorized the mayor to execute all related and necessary documents.
Brett Waggoner, grant specialist with Governmental Assistance Services, explained the background of the CDBG-funded sewer project during a short public hearing that Mayor Brian D. Stromgren opened and closed at 7:07 p.m.; no members of the public spoke. On a motion by Council Member Susan Smith and a second from Council Member Cathryn Houghton, the council approved the closeout by an 8-0 vote.
The action completes the city's administrative responsibilities for the grant as presented; the council's authorization allows the mayor to sign the paperwork required by grant administrators. No additional funding or follow-up tasks were specified in the meeting minutes.
