City approves Connecting Link Agreement for California Street maintenance

The Osage City Council approved the annual Connecting Link Agreement with Osage County on Feb. 24, formalizing which jurisdiction maintains specific stretches of roadway. City Manager Katie Hodge told council that Osage County maintains California Street from Shuey to Indian Hills, and the approved agreement assigns maintenance of California Street from Shuey to 9th Street (link No. OS C-1b) to Osage City for $342.00 covering 0.57 miles.
Council Member Susan Smith made the motion to approve the agreement and Council Member Jeff Tice seconded it; the motion carried 7-0. The agreement is an annual intergovernmental arrangement that defines responsibilities for maintenance and improvement of state or county road segments that pass through city limits.
