Planning staff reports progress on Sunset Ranch, Springs at Spring Lake and Hiatt Creek townhomes

Planning staff presented a multi-item projects update to the commission. Highlights included that Sunset Ranch’s zone change and development agreement were approved by City Council with a minimum lot size of 7,500 square feet and 47 total lots. Staff also reported Springs at Spring Lake is under construction with 35 lots in an R-1-15 zone and that Hiatt Creek Plat B is under construction with approximately 100 townhomes in two- and three-story buildings.
Staff noted that the Hillside Views subdivision and zone change remain under review and that staff met with Elk Ridge City to discuss concerns; staff said the initial staff review has been sent to the applicant. Commissioners asked questions about several proposed or pending projects. Staff additionally flagged that upcoming legislative changes may require updates to commissioner training and procedures.
