Mayor Littman presented a city council citation recognizing Dr. Charlestine Fairley for her leadership as CEO of the Anne Arundel County Community Action Agency. The mayor praised Fairley’s work on youth development, economic mobility, workforce development and reentry services and thanked her on behalf of city residents.
Dr. Fairley, introduced by the mayor, accepted the citation and reflected on her eight years as CEO. "Many people do not understand that the Community Action Agency is the designated anti‑poverty agency for the county," she said, and thanked staff, the board and residents served by the agency. Fairley noted she has lived in the area for decades and introduced her daughter, Nina Hickson, who attended the meeting.
Councilmembers and attendees thanked Fairley for her service; the council’s ceremonial recognition concluded before the meeting moved into business items.
