Payson City Council voted April 15 to adopt Ordinance 04‑15‑2026‑A, an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2025‑2026 municipal budget following a brief public hearing. Finance Director Cathy Jensen presented slides explaining proposed line‑item adjustments, and no members of the public spoke during the hearing.
Councilmember Ryan Rowley moved "To approve Ordinance 04‑15‑2026‑A Amendments to the Fiscal Year 2025‑2026 Municipal Budget," a motion seconded by Councilmember Anne Moss; the motion passed by roll call (Yes: Brian Hulet, Anne Moss, Ryan Rowley, Lacee Smith; Absent: Bob Provstgaard). Councilmembers noted the amendment helps the city remain compliant with state budget procedures; Rowley said one line item demonstrates that recent property tax increases support the city’s fire station project.
The council expects to hold a final budget public hearing in June to balance the fiscal year accounts before the end of the fiscal period. No additional public testimony was recorded during the April 15 hearing.
