Commissioner Goff and others raised concerns that placing the fence around the corner would create a 32‑inch (approximately 2 feet 8 inches) path between the proposed addition and the property line. "You need a gate so the fire department can get all the way around and access the rear of the building," a commissioner said while seeking confirmation that fire access would be acceptable; staff said the plans had been forwarded to the fire department and that the department had not submitted a written concern. The commission suggested the applicant consider moving the fence back or altering its plan so there is not a 2'8" pinch point.
