Police Chief Keldon Brown presented Resolution 2026‑06 asking the Council to declare four handguns, 18 rifles and 11 shotguns surplus. Chief Brown described the intended sales process — checking offers from licensed dealers and selling to the highest bidder — and said proceeds would be used to purchase spare handguns and less‑lethal supplies such as tear gas rounds, pepper balls and taser cartridges.
Council Member Todd Williams moved to approve Resolution 2026‑06 and Council unanimously adopted the resolution. Chief Brown also thanked citizens who spoke during open session about cemetery concerns and said the department would provide extra patrols for the area. The minutes record no dissent and the motion carried with all five Council Members voting yes.
