Council forms six‑month ad hoc committee to review municipal code

Laurie Kent of the Historic Review Board said her board had spent years on chapter 8.72 and that inconsistent online code versions make it hard for the public to know what law applies.
Council amended the motion to limit the committee’s lifespan to six months (rather than the year initially proposed), appointed Vice Mayor Pellegrini and Councilmember Suarez, and approved the motion by roll call. Staff and counsel will provide legal review and advise on dividing the workload into digestible chunks so the ad hoc group can produce actionable recommendations within the time frame.
