Adam Deschaine of BSC Group presented the town's Local Comprehensive Plan update timeline, public engagement tools (crowdsource map, short community survey) and a target schedule that includes a first full draft by May 2027 and town meeting consideration in October 2027.
Deschaine described an 18-month process that will condense existing-condition material, develop a vision statement, and create an implementation matrix of capital projects and regulatory changes. The consultant urged residents to complete the community survey (open through a planned extension) and to use the crowdsource map to record location-based comments. Board members and members of the public urged strong emphasis on workforce housing, reusing abandoned buildings, environmental priorities and improvements to sidewalks and harbor access. The board indicated it will include the housing-production plan consultant in a future meeting and continue stakeholder outreach.
