Beautification Brigade and Arts Commission report new mural, volunteer days and downtown flowers

Vice Chair Tory Runzl, the commission’s liaison to the Beautification Brigade and Arts Commission, updated the body on local beautification and public-art work: the Beautification Brigade is fundraising for a planter that will include a mural of a red-tailed hawk for Gomez Way, scheduled volunteer days at Turwilliger Marsh on April 4 and at the depot on April 25 for Earth Day, and delivery of additional downtown flower baskets expected May 14.
Runzl also said the Arts Commission welcomed new members and worked with city council to approve several sculptures that will be installed on Miller. The announcements included outreach plans to publicize monthly volunteer opportunities via the Mill Valley service portal.
