Garfield County commissioners approve routine contracts, warrants and equipment trade on July 20 agenda

Commissioner Joe Kegin Jr. moved to approve a road maintenance agreement for the Armadillo Flat Re-Power Project with Nextera, and the board approved the measure unanimously. The board also approved a Public Safety Service Agreement with the Town of Garber and authorized sheriff credit-card expenditures totaling $2,803.91. By resolution (#26-101) the board ordered District #2's 2021 John Deere grader (Inventory Code D2 305.195, Serial Number 712584), listed at $290,973.00, to be traded.
Departmental reports were received from the county IT director, the juvenile office and the jail administrator; no board action followed those reports. Vice-Chairman Reese Wedel moved to approve a long list of prior- and current-year warrants and claims across multiple funds, including two sizable detention-building payments to the Garfield County Criminal Justice Authority ($69,733.78 and $86,547.36). The board adjourned and set its next meeting for July 27, 2026.
