Council permits nighttime pavement work to avoid daytime road closures

The Pleasant Grove City Council voted on Feb. 17 to allow Geneva Rock Products, Inc. to exceed normal noise restrictions for pavement preservation work on several city roads between May 1 and Aug. 31, 2026, from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Public Works Director Neal Winterton said work on busier corridors will be completed at night to avoid daytime closures.
"To avoid closing these roads during daylight hours, an exception to the noise ordinance must be granted," Winterton said. The council approved the permit unanimously and staff said the exemption applies to non‑emergency construction and permits will be monitored for compliance with any conditions the city imposes.
