City posts council vacancy materials; special meeting scheduled Jan. 27 to appoint new member

City Recorder Wendy Thorpe and Administrator Scott Darrington outlined the process to fill a vacant City Council seat. Thorpe said 12 applications and 10 videos had been received to date and that the application period closes on Jan. 21 at 12:00 p.m.; materials will be posted online after the application period ends. Administrator Darrington said a Special Meeting to appoint the new council member is scheduled for Jan. 27 at 6:00 p.m.
Thorpe said candidate information will be posted immediately after the deadline and the council will receive an outline of the appointment process beforehand. No appointment was made at the Jan. 20 meeting; the council will consider applications at the Jan. 27 special meeting.
