At the Stormwater Management board meeting following the commissioners' session, health department staff presented a cost-share request related to a subsurface gravity-flow replacement septic system at 51833 Woodview Way.
Elise (county health department) said the project cost is $18,500 and the previously approved split was $9,250 grant and $9,250 loan at 2% interest. She said the homeowners provided a letter and net-worth worksheet showing two children are disabled and liabilities exceed assets; they requested a higher grant share. After discussion about policy exceptions and possible interest removal, a board member moved to approve 75% grant assistance and 25% loan assistance with 0% interest, which the board approved unanimously; staff estimated the grant portion up to $13,875 and loan up to $4,625.
Staff also confirmed another applicant on County Road 29 already had full funding approved based on income and installation has begun.
