The Pleasant Grove City Council unanimously approved Resolution 2026‑08 on Feb. 17, renewing a cooperative agreement with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands regarding wildland fire management. Fire Chief Drew Engemann told the council the five‑year agreement helps satisfy insurance requirements and that the agreement is separate from the Wildland‑Urban Interface map.
"This agreement is not associated with the Wildland Urban Interface ('WUI') Map," Engemann said. He added the renewal has helped reduce the city's insurance costs compared with the period following a major fire about six years ago. The resolution was approved unanimously by the council.
