The Pleasant Grove City Council approved a proclamation naming February as Choose Kindness Month. Brooklin Burns, founder of the local initiative, told the council the month’s calendar includes daily prompts and multiple service projects. "We encourage our citizens to choose to practice kindness," the proclamation reads, Burns said, describing the program’s goal to strengthen community bonds through service.
Choose Kindness Club members Eden and Ethan outlined upcoming activities: a kickoff packing lunches for the homeless on Jan. 29 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center and a community care-kit assembly on Feb. 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Businesses participating will offer coupons or free items to people wearing kindness-themed apparel. The council voted unanimously to adopt the proclamation.
