Pleasant Grove honors Vikettes drill team and coach after state and national championships

Pleasant Grove City Council on Feb. 17 recognized the Pleasant Grove High School Vikettes Drill Team for winning the 5A state championship and earning a national championship in hip hop. Mayor Eric Jensen and Council Member Todd Williams read statements of recognition and played a video of the team’s winning performance.
Williams highlighted the team’s season and the program’s impact on community pride, and the council also recognized Coach Sami Jo Carson for being named 5A Coach of the Year. Photographs were taken with the council following the presentation.
