Public Works Director Neal Winterton updated the City Council on an array of road-safety improvements planned or in progress. He said the county agreed to purchase equipment for 100 East in front of Pleasant Grove Junior High and that delivery could take up to 10 weeks. Rapid flashing beacons and new crosswalks were installed at 1350 West and the north leg of the road, and a crosswalk was added at 1650 West.
Winterton reported an engineering design had been commissioned for the corner of 1450 West and 3300 North; he estimated the project cost at about $300,000 because of restoration work that will be required. He also noted ongoing sidewalk ramp upgrades, enhanced linework, and partnerships with neighboring American Fork on increased-reflectivity driver-feedback signs. Mayor Jensen said the City's Communications Director would work with public-safety partners to remind drivers to be attentive.
