Public works: Phase IV paving finished; council notes streetlight outage on Illinois Avenue

Public Works Supervisor Taylor Keith reported that Phase IV work is finished on West Virginia Avenue and Kentucky Avenue and the department is wrapping up for the year. Councilor Charlene Louk relayed a compliment that the contractor on the paving job “did excellent work.”
Councilor Rick Lafferty reported that a streetlight on the 600 block of Illinois Avenue is going out and said he will provide the pole number to Mayor Sam Maxson for follow-up. Code Enforcement Officer Roger Keith said he has been filling in for a Public Works colleague on medical leave and expects to resume regular duties after Jan. 1, though he will continue to cover as needed.
