Commission shortlists three firms for city manager recruitment and schedules interviews

Interim city manager Quinde reviewed evaluation results for responses to the city manager recruitment RFP and asked the commission to provide direction on moving to interviews or selecting a firm. The evaluation listed scores for respondents (GMP 96, Colin Basinger 94, MGT 88, Undercurrent 87, DPS 85, WBCP 83, Bob Moran 78) and noted Austin Peters declined to submit.
Commissioners favorited a shortlist (Colin Basinger, ClearCareer and GPS) and agreed to do Zoom interviews during the August 10 study session, 30 minutes per firm with a short break between interviews, or in a special study session if commissioners prefer to avoid back‑to‑back interviews during a regular meeting. Staff also noted an in‑house recruitment is feasible but involves staff time and associated costs; commissioners asked staff to set up interviews and bring back a recommended scheduling format.
