The Lovington City Commission adopted the fiscal-year 2026–27 budget on July 27 following consideration of the fourth-quarter financial report. Staff said the quarter closed with only minor adjustments and that the final reports will be submitted to state authorities by an upcoming Friday deadline. "Except for some minor adjustments, this may or to the interim budget," the city manager said while describing the closing reconciliations.
Commissioners moved and seconded adoption of the budget (Resolution 2026-099) and approved the fourth-quarter report (Resolution 2026-098); staff confirmed no immediate budget adjustment was required to finish the fiscal year. The commission directed staff to continue monitoring cash strategies and to present any required budget adjustments as they arise.
