The commission voted to approve a requested variance for backyard setback at 103 North Arrow Drive to allow installation of a double-wide manufactured home on a shorter lot. Planning staff explained that residential and manufactured-housing codes differ and that, for this lot, a 17-foot rear setback provides required clearance given lot dimensions and alley access. "They just need that, 5 foot variance in the rear," a planning staff member said while describing previous variances granted in similar circumstances.
Staff noted the existing manufactured home had been on site for many years and commissioners asked clarifying questions about how the different code provisions apply. After public input was called and none heard, the commission approved Resolution 2026-095 by voice vote.
